Welcome to the USA Hockey verification registration! The purpose of this registration is to streamline things for our SafeSport manager, Nancy Volz.

Hello hockey families!
It a wonderful time of year!!! The start of HOCKEY SEASON!!! As with all years here goes the not so fun part of the housekeeping. ANYONE that is going to be a coach, assistant coach, or locker room monitor HAS to do SafeSport and the Background check (good for 2 years). Your very first step though is to register with USA hockey as a parent/volunteer (or coach).
This year it is a requirement of sanctioned tournaments to have a list of workers, USA Hockey numbers, email addresses and what they are doing ahead of time, which will be verified. These will need to be completed, as coaches and managers need your help! This is a long season and volunteers are a vital part of our program!
Here are the steps to complete this:
The best way is to go to mthockey.com (making sure it is Montana Amateur
Hockey Association) and follow the 3 steps.
1. USA Hockey membership. Which is membership.usahockey.com
Register now. Keep your registration number, you will need it for future reference.
2. Safe Sport training. Which is https://www.usahockey.com/safesporttraining
If you registered last year use the same information to sign in to training. If not, please access required core training. If you have an account from another sport you will (most likely) need to delete them in order to get this to work. The SafeSport is a little messed up; if you have issues when you log in, like nothing showing up to do and you know you haven't done it you need to email memberservices and give them their name AND member #...and tell them SS
is not showing up. Only after that can we have it looked into by Kari Riley the SS state coordinator.
3. To complete a USA Hockey Background Screen, please go to: www.usahockey.com/backgroundscreen There is a $30.00 fee for this and it good for 2 years. (This fee will be refunded if you complete a set required number of background needed hours). If your background is current, the system will alert you that you are not eligible. If you are not provided with a code, it is 35615801.
Once these three things are done please register with Miles City Youth Hockey, you will need to provide your name and USA Hockey number and email address on this registration site.
